Ulster County will be making some tough budget decisions this fall, the Daily Freeman reports:
In a memo to Legislator Richard Gerentine, chairman of the county Legislature’s Ways and Means Committee, Budget Director Arthur Smith said that earlier administration projections that the county could face a budget gap of between $15 million and $25 million in the upcoming year still hold true. In fact, he said, the potential shortfall “actually leans towards the high end of the range.”
Ouch.
Smith's memo -- posted below -- lays the blame for Ulster County's ballooning budget gap on Washington and Albany.
