Power outages are dotted across five Catskills counties on Friday, Aug. 21, with thousands of households in the dark in Schoharie County and hundreds without power in Ulster County as of 11 a.m.
Earlier this morning, thousands of people in Sullivan County were without power, according to the Times Herald-Record, but most of those outages appear to have been fixed, according to NYSEG's outage map.
In Schoharie County, 1,726 people are currently without power, according to National Grid's outage map. Power is expected to be restored there around 12:30 p.m.
Along the shores of the Ashokan Reservoir in Glenford, in Ulster County, 399 people are out of power, according to Central Hudson's outage map. There is no estimate of when that power will return.
In Delaware County, 31 people are without power, and in Sullivan County, 11 people are in the dark, according to NYSEG's outage map. In Greene County, 10 people are without power, according to Central Hudson's map.
Update: The Margaretville Telephone Company has sent us a press release staying that there are "widespread telecom outages" across Central New York:
"A widespread power outage in Albany has interrupted telecommunications services throughout the Central New York State Region. As a result Delhi and Margaretville Telephone Companies are experiencing service impairments affecting cable phone, long distance, and select internet services. The current estimated restoration time provided by the Network Switching Center in Albany is 3:30PM. Additional updates will be provided as they become available."
