Three Sullivan County residents are facing felony drug charges after a police raid at a Glen Spey home turned up large quantities of crack cocaine, heroin and oxycodone, police say.
The search, carried out on Wednesday, March 5, followed an investigation into drug activity at a house on Forestburgh Road in Glen Spey, a hamlet of the rural Sullivan County town of Lumberland. During the search, eight people were arrested, according to a release from the New York State Police.
Three face felony charges: 35-year-old Jamal Colon and 43-year-old Vesna Colon of Glen Spey, and 50-year-old Michelle McNeal of Monticello. Jamal and Vesna Colon have been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third, fourth, and seventh degrees and conspiracy in the fourth degree. Jamal Colon also faces a felony charge of tampering with physical evidence. McNeal faces charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third and fourth degrees and conspiracy in the fourth degree.
All three were arraigned before Sullivan County judge Michael McGuire and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
Five other Sullivan County residents were arrested during the raid on misdemeanor drug possession charges, and released with appearance tickets for Town of Highland court.
The FBI was involved in the raid, along with the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, the Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Major Crimes, and the State Police Special Operations Response Team.
