Wednesday’s Show: Forest Talk with Mike Porter
This Wednesday we’ll be talking to Mike Porter again about this & that. Mike Porter is a local maple producer, and quite the forest enthusiast. He’s been known to make a few rustic furniture items as well as a log cabin from trees found on his land. We’ll see what Mike has been up to most recently. Tune in at 91.3 FM or stream online at www.wioxradio.org to learn more.
WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
So, this spring I had a French drain installed in the middle of my backyard. The excavated topsoil was placed into a mound where I’ve transplanted blueberries and raspberries onto. However, about a month ago a volunteer pumpkin patch has taken over the mound and now 4 huge pumpkins exist with more to come. Yesterday, I noticed 2 stalks of corn rising between the pumpkins; they’re already waist high. How about that!
May the forest be with you,
Ryan Trapani
