The final two performances of The Open Eye Theater’s holiday show “Dulce Domum” featuring Mole and Rat from “Wind in the Willows” with the Caroling Mice performing “The Reluctant Dragon” (a play within the play) performs this Saturday, December 27, at 7 pm, and Sunday, December 28 at 2.  This play with music, adapted for the stage by Amie Brockway from the classic stories by Kenneth Graham, is recommended for both children and adults.

The original music for the production was composed by Elliot Sokolov, who was nominated for an academy award for his score for the documentary film “The Restless Conscience.”  His music is frequently heard on popular TV shows including Nova, Nature, National Geographic Explorer, and has been heard on more than 100 animations featured on Sesame Street.  Performing his music at The Open Eye are Patricia Brannen on keyboard and Ginny Scheer on flute.

Cookies and cocoa will be served at both performances, and a reception follows Sunday’s show, with an opportunity to meet composer Elliot Sokolov, and chat with the cast and company.  The Open Eye Theater is at 960 Main Street in Margaretville.  Tickets are $10 for adults; children and teens attend free of charge.  Phone 845-586-1660 for reservations, or e-mail openeye@catskill.net.
