Community mourns the death of Ulster police officer Travis Nissen

Town of Ulster police officer Travis Nissen was just 27 years old when he was killed in an off-duty car accident on Route 28 in Olive on Friday, December 9.

Today in a ceremony attended by over 100 fellow police officers, family and friends gathered to mourn Nissen at the St. Joseph's Church in Kingston.

Nissen was also an officer at the Miller Middle School in Ulster. YNN reports that students and staff are heartbroken over his death, and that the school was let out early today so that students could attend the funeral.
