Another person has died in a vehicular accident this week, bringing the death toll from Catskills car and snowmobile accidents up to four since Friday.
The Daily Freeman and the Times Herald-Record are reporting that a 58-year-old Hurley woman died after her car skidded off the road into a telephone poll and flipped over in the Town of Ulster yesterday afternoon. An elderly man and a 3-year-old boy were in the car -- both survived with injuries.
From the THR:
Town police Chief Matthew Taggard said the woman's 1998 Subaru Legacy was southbound on a section of the highway known as the East Chester Street bypass just before 2 p.m. when, for an unknown reason, it veered off the highway, hit and fractured a utility pole, rolled over and came to rest upside down.
NY-Alert reports that the road was closed for several hours.
