Greene County drug dragnet arrests 18 people

Eighteen people were arrested on drug charges after a 14-month investigation by Greene County and New York State police and officials on Friday, Dec. 12, according to a press release from the New York State Police.

The arrests spanned Greene County from Jewett and Lexington to New Baltimore. The lengthy investigation involved undercover operatives buying cocaine, crack, heroin and prescription drugs from suspects around the region. Sealed indictments were handed down throughout November and December, police say.

The list of the 18 people arrested is below:

Joey Rodriguez, age 34, of Catskill, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 2nd (2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd (2 counts)

Gregory “Rebel” Bernard, age 37, of Catskill, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 2nd (2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd (2 counts)

Brian Bridgham, age 31, of Catskill, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (1 count) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (1 count).

Richard Colon, age 34, of Catskill, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 4th (2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th (2 counts). Wilfredo Louis Pinet, age 30, of Catskill, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts).

Joseph Hiesinger, age 27, of Jewett, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts).

Charles “CW” Potter, age 33, of Lexington, N.Y: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (1 count) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (1 count).

Howard Maynard, age 28 of Catskill, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 4th (1 count) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th (1 count).

Don Fax Jr., age 23, of Catskill, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts).

Charles Corey, age 18, of Cairo, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts).

Brian Ford, age 49, of Cairo, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts).

Steven Brice, age 38, of Cairo, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (3 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (3 counts).

Richard Overbaugh, age 43, of Catskill, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts).

Dennis “DJ” Foster, age 39, of Coxsackie, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts).

Francisco Gonzalez “Cisco”, age 31, of Cairo, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (2 counts).

Horace Roberston, age 63, of Catskill, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (1 count) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (1 count).

Stanley L. Vereen, age 51, of New Baltimore, N.Y.: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (3 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (3 counts).

State Police also arrested Michael Cleary, age 58, of Catskill, N.Y. for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (1 count).

All of the people arrested were committed to the Greene County jail and are being arraigned in Greene County Court, according to the press release, with the exception of Michael Cleary. Clearly was arraigned in the Town of Cairo Court and was remanded to the Greene County Jail in on $20,000.00 cash bail.

The Greene County District Attorney’s Office, the State Police, the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the village of Catskill Police, the town of Cairo Police, the Town of Durham Police, the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, the Capital District Drug Enforcement Task Force, and the Greene County Probation Department all cooperated in the dragnet.
