21-year-old Olivebridge resident Joseph Schwall was arrested last Thursday on assault, menacing, reckless endangerment and other charges. Police say Schwall deliberately ran over his brother with a car on Whitfield Road in Accord, before getting out and punching him in the face.
From a press release issued by the department:
As Schwall was driving, his brother asked to exit the vehicle. Schwall stopped the car to let his brother get out. Schwall then ran his brother over with the car, got out and proceeded to punch his brother in the head and face. Schwall then fled the scene and was later located at his residence in the Town of Olive.
The victim was transpoted to the hospital and treated for neck and back injuries and multiple contusions and lacerations. Schwall was arrested and charged with felony Assault in the second degree, Reckless endangerment in the second degree, menacing in the third degree, assault in the third degree, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, leaving the scene of a personal injury automobile accident all misdemeanors and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle a violation.
Schwall was arraigned in the Town of Rochester Court and released to reappear on March 7, 2012 at 6:00pm.
