Long Island man arrested in Ulster County for assault, menacing with shotgun

A Long Island man was arrested this week on charges that he assaulted a woman at his Wawarsing hunting camp and threatened her with a shotgun. State police announced the arrest of 52-year-old Oceanside resident Tracy Vierra on Thursday, March 22:

The New York State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Tracy G. Vierra, age 52, of Oceanside, N.Y., for the felony charges of Unlawful Imprisonment 1st  , Assault 2nd , and three counts of Criminal Possession of Weapon 3rd. . Vierra was also charged with the misdemeanor offense of Menacing 2nd.

Vierra was arrested and charged subsequent to an investigation in which he was found to have had physically assaulted a female acquaintance and threatened her with a shotgun this past weekend at his hunting camp in Wawarsing, N.Y.  A search of Vierra’s hunting camp yielded two shotguns that were altered and defaced.

Vierra was taken into custody and transported to SP Ellenville where he was processed and arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing before Town Justice Charles Dechon. Vierra was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 certified bond. Vierra is to reappear in the Town of Wawarsing Court on 03/23/12 at 8:30 a.m.
