Watershed Post Half-Hour News Hour: The hazards of summer in the Catskills

Today at 1pm we aired our second installment of the Watershed Post Half-Hour News Hour, our 30-minute radio news show, on WIOX 91.3 FM in Roxbury. You can listen to today's show below. (Our debut show aired in July -- you can listen to it here.)

We talked about the recent spate of deaths in the Catskills, last week's Delhi flash mob, a potential ban on hydraulic fracturing in the New York City watershed, and a slew of other news stories from the past few weeks. We also interviewed Margaretville Food Pantry co-coordinator Josie Stern about how red tape is causing shortages at Delaware County food pantries.

We're still getting our radio sea legs, but with the help of WIOX's Mike Teitelbaum, things went swimmingly today. If all goes according to plan, this week's show will also air on Friday at 3pm on WGXC 90.7 FM, which covers Greene and Columbia counties. We're still in the public beta stage, so we won't be back on the airwaves until August 31, when we'll begin broadcasting weekly. Have suggestions for us? Got a local audio clip we can play on the air? Want to be a guest on the show? We want you! Get in touch with us at editor@watershedpost.com.
