The state police are reporting that two men -- 23-year-old Randall M. Lynch of Phoenicia and 24-year-old Kevin Schoonmaker of Lake Katrine -- have been arrested on assault, robbery, weapon and drug charges stemming from an alleged knifepoint robbery in Phoenicia on Thursday.
During the incident, police say, another person was cut on the hand with a knife and received facial injuries.

On 7/14/2011, UC 911 received a complaint of a possible altercation involving a knife on ST-214 in Phoenicia, Town of Shandaken. As a result of this investigation, it was learned that an injured subject was the victim of an apparent robbery.
This resulted in the arrest of RANDALL M. LYNCH, age 23, of Phoenicia, NY and KEVIN SCHOONMAKER, age 24, of Lake Katrine, NY, who were both charged with Robbery in the second degree (felony). SCHOONMAKER was additionally charged with Assault in the second degree (felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree (misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (violation).
Both were arraigned in the Town of Shandaken Town Court and were remanded to the Ulster County Jail. The victim was treated at Kingston Hospital for lacerations to the left hand and facial contusions. The state police were assisted by the Town of Shandaken Police, Town of Woodstock Police, NYC DEP and the Town of Olive Police Dept.
