Livingston Manor man fires shots at guest's retreating car

Michael Lowe: New York State PoliceMichael Lowe: Photo via the New York State PoliceThe New York State Police in Liberty are reporting that Michael Lowe of Livingston Manor fired a rifle at a woman, her mother and her uncle as the woman was being picked up from Lowe's Meadow St. house yesterday.

According to the press release, Lowe pulled out the .22 caliber rifle after having a confrontation with the woman's uncle, who had come to pick the woman after she had an argument with another man at the house.

According to the Times Herald-Record, Lowe was celebrating his birthday at the house when the incident occured.

Lowe was arraigned today. Here's the press release in full:

On 03/01/11 New York State Police Members from SP Liberty responded to a Sullivan County 911 call regarding a domestic incident which had occurred at 18 Meadow Street, Livingston Manor, NY. A second 911 call was received a few minutes after the initial call reporting shots fired at the Pecks Market parking lot located at 29 Main Street, Livingston Manor, NY. The investigation revealed that a domestic dispute had occurred between a 19 year old female from Livingston Manor and a 19 year old male from Youngsville, NY while they were staying at the residence of Michael Lowe located at 18 Meadow Street, Livingston Manor, NY. The female party called her mother and uncle to pick her up and upon arrival a confrontation ensued between the uncle and Lowe. As the three victims pulled away from the residence, Michael Lowe retrieved a .22 caliber rifle from his residence and fired three rounds at the vehicle, striking it three times as it was driving through the parking lot of Pecks Market.   Lowe was transported to SP Liberty for processing and charged with 3 counts of Reckless Endangerment 1st and Criminal Possession of a Firearm 2nd both felonies. Lowe was arraigned today at the Town of Rockland Court before Town Justice Gibson and committed to Sullivan County on bail of $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond
