County snow plow hits school bus in Esopus

The Ulster County Sheriff's Office is reporting that an Ulster County Highway Department snow plow collided with a school bus loaded with 25 kids in the Town of Esopus this morning. The bus driver and two students were reportedly taken to Kingston Hospital for evaluations, but no severe injuries were reported.

According to the press release, 59-year-old Wayne Smith was driving the plow truck on Union Center Rd. around 8:30am when the plow hit a concrete wall, knocking the back of the truck into the oncoming lane. The Arthur F. Mulligan school bus, which was carrying 25 students from the Maple Ride Community in Ulster Park, was in the opposite lane as the truck crossed the line.
