Felony weapons charges for Hamden man

A press release from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, sent out yesterday, reports that Jonathan Gutliph has been charged with selling off his dead father's handguns:

On Wednesday afternoon, August 11, 2010, Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a Hamden man on felony weapon charges.

Deputies arrested and charged 23 year old Jonathan “J.C.” Gutliph with one count each of Criminal Sale of a Weapon in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

Gutliph is accused of unlawfully possessing in excess of five handguns from the Estate of his late father and unlawfully selling those handguns to another.

Gutliph was arraigned before the Town of Delhi Local Criminal Court and was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail or $10,000.00 bond pending further court action.

Gutilph was also investigated for passing bad checks in Walton earlier this summer, according to the Daily Star.
