Michael White, who was in 10th grade at Catskill High School, was killed last night in a Palenville accident involving an all-terrain vehicle, according to the Daily Mail and WNYT. Jennifer O’Brien, a 17-year-old, survived but is critically injured.
WNYT is reporting that White, who was driving the ATV, was wearing a helmet, but that the ATV's headlights were off:
It happened at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in Palenville. Youths who were following the ATV told investigators that while traveling north on Pennsylvania Avenue, 15-year-old Michael White of Palenville and 17-year-old Jennifer O'Brien of Catskill approached a slight bend in the roadway. They veered off the shoulder and crashed into large tree.
