Farmers' Market of the Week: Colchester

The Watershed Agricultural Council and Pure Catskills are featuring a different Catskills farmers' market every week during the 2015 growing season.

This week's market is the Colchester Farmers' Market, held every second and fourth Saturday from late May through mid-October, 9am to 2pm, at Pepacton Park in Downsville.

On October 10, the last market of the 2015 season, the Colchester market will be held in conjunction with a town-wide special event: the Maple Leaf Festival and Streetscape Art Benefit, featuring BBQ, vendors, hayrides, live music, and champion chainsaw carver Mark Tyoe carving a life-sized eagle sculpture to be raffled off. Proceeds will benefit the 2016 Streetscape Arts Project for the Town of Colchester. The festival will be followed by a block party at the Covered Bridge Park from 3pm to 10pm.

For more information about the Colchester market, visit their Facebook page or contact market organizers at pepactonparkmarket@gmail.com.

Pure Catskills is a regional, buy local campaign developed by the Watershed Agricultural Council.
