Wednesday Night’s Show: Restoring Old Apple Trees

CFA-On-The-Air: From the Forest
Wednesday’s 6PM – 7PM
WIOX ROXBURY 91.3FM or www.wioxradio.org

On tonight’s show we’ll be talking about Restoring Old Apple Trees. Many of you that own some land have either old, planted apple trees, or old volunteers. Even though they may have been neglected for decades, they can still be brought back into a healthy condition and benefit both the palates of humans & wildlife.

WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
Finally collected some sap yesterday. Although the temperatures reached the mid-40s in central Ulster County, sap flow wasn’t that great. I’m guessing the poor performance was due to frozen-ground conditions where the roots aren’t drawing much sap into the rest of the tree. Things should really begin to change this week as early spring sets in.

May the forest be with you,
