History DVDs for the Holidays – Deep Water: Building the Catskill Water System

Deep Water: Building the Catskill Water System is the classic story of the the building of the Ashokan Reservoir and the west-of-Hudson water system designed to send clean, clear Catskill Mountains water to NY City.

A few weeks ago we screened the 45-minute documentary at the Olive Free Library where the film premiered in December of 2001. Here are some pictures from that event and vintage images from the documentary. The award-winning film was co-produced and directed by Tobe Carey, Robie Dupree, and Artie Traum.

Deep Water makes a great holiday gift for anyone with an interest in the history of the Catskills and NY City.
