Fiber Arts Weekend and Fresh Chicken!

Hi,
Fresh chicken in the cooler!  Whole and parts, including half chickens, so good on the grill!  The farm store and cafe are open from 11am-3pm every Saturday and Sunday (our summer hours).

Fiber Arts Weekend
We will have free demonstrations all weekend, as well as fiber arts related items available for sale.  Drop it and hang out.

Saturday morning, May 30, starting around 10am. Ray Baitsholts will be shearing our 5 llamas, 3 alpacas, and 4 rams and wethers.  Some are cooperative, some are not! Ray is a master at them all.  Meet us at the red barn on Knowles Road.

Saturday, 1pm, Maggie Corrigan of Warnerville, NY,  will be sharing her many years of fiber knitting and crafting knowledge.  She'll bring her drop spindle and demonstrate how she makes sweaters, scarves, socks and more. Shepherd and knitter Kate Henderson of Sheepy Valley Farm, Medusa, will also be here, with additional knitting demonstrations, and yarns made from her flock of fiber sheep. Kate also have knitting supplies, such as patterns and needles available to purchase.

Sunday, May 31  11am-2pm Vicki and Skip Watt from Cluckin'A Critter Farm, Greenville, will hold a wool spinning workshop starting with shearing the fiber from the animal, cleaning it, dyeing, spinning, knitting and morel They will have spinning wheels, paddles, drop spindles, raw fleece, and lots of show and tell, and hands-on opportunities. They will also bring their wool products to sell. Skip makes his own spinning wheels and much more.

There are gorgeous yarn bowls and pottery buttons by Terrice Bassler, Pottery with a Purpose, here.  Our own sheepskins, and raw fleeces from both Dorset and Icelandic sheep, in white and colors, are available as well.
