Above: Video footage of Monticello mayor Gordon Jenkins ranting and throwing a clock while in a booking room on a drunk driving arrest in November 2013. (Be warned, there's a lot of profanity.)
The Sullivan County village of Monticello has a reputation for troubled government officials, but this week may take the cake.
On Tuesday, August 12, the village's acting village manager, Ray Nargizian, was fired during an emergency village board meeting.
Last night, Wednesday, August 13, Monticello mayor Gordon Jenkins pled guilty to a drunk driving charge from November 2013.
And this morning, Thursday, August 14, mayor Jenkins and village building inspector James Snowden were arrested by the New York State Police and will be arraigned shortly for charged outlined in a sealed indictment, according to the Times Herald-Record.
This is not the first arrest for Mayor Jenkins. In April, he was sentenced to three years' probation for punching a Monticello police officer in 2012.
In November, video of Jenkins cursing and throwing a clock while waiting in a booking room after he was detained for drunk driving went viral. The video is posted above -- Jenkins throws the clock at the 1:21:55 mark.
