County Manager David Fanslau issued the following statement: “As of 8:00 AM there are some County Roads that are flooded, some with shoulder damage from water runoff, and some with mud slides. The following is a report of the current situation:

153E911 reports a few requests for cellar pump outs in throughout the County, but there are no large numbers of Reports County wide.
The County will experience some light rain for the next few hours and then the sun will come through.
As of 5:00 AM, the County has had reports of some flooding in Westbrookville (Pine Kill Rd and SR 209); Livingston Manor (Pearl Street); and Youngsville (Shandalee Rd and SR 52). Also, Edwards Rd in the Bridgeville area has some minor flooding. At this time, none of the flooding is major, but water is coming up over the roadways. The local Fire Departments and Highway Departments are on scenes in the stated locations. The NWS Binghamton is reporting that the heavy rain from the storm should be clear of Sullivan County starting around 6:00 AM. The Sullivan County E911 reports several flooded basements in the County that have required Fire Department assistance.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on small creeks and streams, and ponding of water in highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage areas and low lying spots.
Sullivan County officials will be in contact with all towns, village and fire departments in the flood-prone areas, to ensure all precautionary measures are being taken, and implementing contingency plans in case of flooding. County officials will remain in contact with these towns, village and volunteer first-responders throughout the storm, as they monitor the situations in their own communities.
