Not to sound overly optimistic, but it looks like the threat of flooding has passed us by, for now. At present, the National Weather Service still has a wind advisory in effect for all of eastern and central New York until late Saturday, but the area is no longer under a flood watch.
Drivers should still watch out for high winds and falling tree limbs:
A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF 31 TO 39 MPH ARE EXPECTED OR WIND GUSTS OF 46 TO 57 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
The greater Albany area still has a flood watch in effect.
