WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
It’s pretty warm out right now, but last week while hunting it was much colder. Day-time high temperatures up on the mountain hovered around freezing; there was also quite a bit of snow too. Times like these make a hunter wonder what a deer is eating, especially in the mountains where little forest regeneration occurs. Under oak trees, the deer were fervently digging through snow and leaves to reveal hidden acorns. In one section, the entire hillside seemed torn up by these hungry deer; leaving one hungry hunter wondering where all the deer went.
May the forest be with you,
