Rossini's Barber of Seville - Saturday, August 2

The Saturday night of the Festival has always given to a popular Opera, and this year of Spanish theme it is of course an (Italian) Spanish gift, Rossini's The Barber of Seville. Our Barber’s Figaro, meteoric American baritone Lucas Meachem is gloriously comedic and Mezzo-Soprano Maria Todaro is the charming young miss with a core of bright steel (Todaro is also the Executive Director of the Festival). The Opera is semi-staged with full orchestra conducted by David Wroe. Opera in the open air in the mountains with wine, music and charm - what better way is there to spend a Saturday evening?
