The 'Wedding Dresser' In Detail

The Wedding Dresser was commissioned as a gift for a new bride. Heart Pine, with its humble qualities, was chosen for the chassis. Custom hinges and hasps made of copper, brass, and walnut were designed and fabricated to enhance its handmade character. The hinges were designed on a single steel rod tying together the five door and cabinet wings.

To create a clean façade on drawer faces, concealed spring-loaded touchlets were used, eliminating the need for knobs or pulls. The legs were castings from a 1930s kitchen stove reproduced in lost wax technique and coated with a porcelain enamel.

Later, the Wedding Dresser model was reworked into a simple kitchen sideboard with a small matching cupboard.
