SWEET VIOLETS – VALENTINES DAY
When Rhinebeck was the “Violet Capital of the World," Valentine's Day marked a major occasion to celebrate with sweet-smelling bunches of cultivated violets. Today, roses may be the Valentine's Day flower of choice, but it was not always so.
This year, our documentary, “Sweet Violets” will be shown at the 10th International Meeting on Violets, to be held in Portugal. Here's a link to their interesting program. Violet lovers from around the world will be attending, and we're honored to have our film as part of the proceedings.

Here's a Facebook announcement in Portuguese, “Luís wrote: "No dia 22 de Fevereiro, durante o 10º Meeting Internacional sobre violetas, projectaremos o documentário Sweet Violets, realizado por Tobe Carey sobre a produção de violetas em Rhinebeck (Nova Iorque) durante a primeira metade do século XX, quando esta pequena localidade era o centro mundial de cultivo de violetas (40 minutos, em língua inglesa, sem legendas)."
