Wednesday Night’s Show: Venison Donation Coalition
On Wednesday night’s show we’ll be talking to Greg Fuerst from the Venison Donation Coalition (VDC). The VDC is responsible for taking literally tons of donated deer meat and turning it into millions of meals for hungry residents of New York State. The VDC is unfamiliar to many in our area, and this show will seek to raise more awareness about this extremely beneficial program. Tune in at 91.3 FM or stream online at www.wioxradio.org.
WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
Last weekend’s thaw – before the arctic blast came to the Catskills – melted a lot of the snow that had accumulated, revealing the whereabouts of one tiny critter. Voles are mouse-like creatures that tunnel through the snow and can feed on the inner bark of young saplings, like apple trees! Make sure you have guards around the trunk of any plantings you may have before these guys get to them.
May the forest be with you,
