The Margaretville Hospital and the Auxiliary Wellness Committee are sponsoring a Fall Health Fair on Friday, Oct. 11 from 7-11 a.m. at the hospital.
Flu shots will be offered throughout the fair, without an appointment. A prescription is not necessary. Medicare will cover the cost of the flu shots for those 65 and over. For those with no insurance, the charge will be $28.
Free screenings during the Fall Health Fair will include: cholesterol testing (individuals must fast for 10-12 hours before the test, with no food or drinks), finger stick blood glucose, bone density, pulmonary lung test, oxygen pulse oximetry, blood pressure and body mass index.
The event will also include more than 20 exhibitors providing information on an assortment of health-related topics. The Auxiliary of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center Wellness Committee will be among those with a table, offering material promoting healthy lifestyles.
