Works by Mozart, Britten, and Verdi will be performed by a quartet that was nominated for the 2010 Best Chamber Music Performance Grammy award and won Chamber Music America’s prestigious Guarneri String Quartet Award. The Ensō String Quartet has appeared on America Public Media’s “Saint Paul Sunday” and is regularly featured on “Performance Today.” The Houston Chronicle praised the group for an “edge-of-the-seat vitality few groups maintain throughout a performance.” The Washington Post reported that “the Ensō players filled the Coolidge Auditorium with glorious sonorities,” and MusicWeb International referred to an Ensō performance as “playing of jaw-dropping prowess.”
