Saturday, July 27
Woodworking artist John Knapp will show us how he creates whimsical heirloom toys using wood that he harvests from his sustainable forest on July 27 from 10 -12 pm at the Pakatakan Farmers Market, Route 30, Halcottsville. John will demonstrate some of the different methods he uses to give his toys their spark, while explaining the process of managing a woodlot in a sustainable manner. There will also be an interactive workshop when youngsters can engage in making their own toy.
The traveling crafts shows and arts series is presented by the Catskill Mountain Artisans Guild and sponsored in part by the Small Business Development Fund administered by the MARK Project, the O’Connor Foundation and the Kids in the Kaatskills. Events are free. For more info, visit www.catsguild.org or call 845-586-3443.
