Ed Potokar with Metal Bass
Ed Potokar has announced the lineup for the Audio Artists performance at the opening of his Potophonics show at the Orphic Gallery on Friday, July 5th and it is simply stellar. Potokar will be joined by Alice Malloy, Frank Coelho, Mark Schaaf, Paul Badger, all founding members of the original ensemble from Cleveland, and they will be joined by Michael Suchorsky, drummer for Lou Reed in the mid/late 70s, and Chris Butler of Tin Huey and The Waitresses acclaim.
The complete lineup is:
Alice Malloy – Electronics vocals, and Theremin. (Audio Artists, Guyettes)
Frank Coelho – Electronics, vocals, and bass. (Suave Elbows, and Lovey Dove)
Michael Suchorsky – Drums and percussion (Lou Reed, Everyman band, Audio Artists.)
Chris Butler – Guitar, drums, and bass. (Founding member of Tin Huey and The Waitresses, Purple Knif, Audio Artists)

Paul Badger – Instrument maker, electronics, violin, and trombone. (Audio Artists, Redness)
Ed Potokar - Instrument maker, electronics and percussion (Audio Artists, Lovey Dovey, Redness, Buddy Scott Trio, and Skinslappers)
In addition to periodic demonstrations throughout the evening of Potokar’s unique and eccentric instruments from the Potophonics exhibit, The Audio Artists will perform a complete set of their unconventional music ranging from “danceable techno tango to electronica disharmonica.” After witnessing an Audio Artists' performance, Don Hill, legendary owner of the eponymous nightclub fixture of the NYC downtown scene remarked "I've been in music for a long time and I 've never seen or heard anything like this."
