Below: Kim Cuesta, who with her husband Joe Cuesta runs the Mountain Meadow Inn and Farm on Route 23A in Lexington. Kim and Joe create products from maple syrup, like their strawberry rhubarb jelly and blueberry maple syrup. They raise a bunch of "happy chickens" and bottle their medium amber syrup in lovely glass gift bottles. Behind and to the right is Ellen Keator (in the hat) who produces herbal products including her soaps pictured under the name Mountain Homestead.
In the picture below, Amy of Amy's Take-Away discusses her readymade ramp pesto, ramp butter and the fresh produce she brings from Story Farms in Catskill, RSK Farm on Route 23 in Prattsville, and Migliorelli Farmstand on Route 28 in Olive. Amy's Take-Away is on route 214 in Lanesville. For more information about her menus and her home kitchen, see her website: http://www.amystakeaway.com/
Heather Ridge Farm comes to the market from Preston Hollow where Carol Clement raises sheep, goats chickens, pigs, turkeys and cattle, produces honey and other products from the farm like her yarn and beeswax candles. For the best presentation of her products and for information about the Bees Knees Cafe which runs on the weekends with a spectacular Sunday Brunch, go to the Heather Ridge Farm Website: http://heather-ridge-farm.com/. Carol has also received an award this year describing her entire operation as treating her animals humanely from cradle to grave. She also influenced her processor to qualify for the same award.
