Fresh Lamb, Fresh Chicken and CSA June Pickup!

Hi,
We are open both Saturday and Sunday, for 11am-3pm, with both fresh lamb, and fresh chicken in the cooler!  All cuts of lamb and some mutton, too.  There will be whole chickens, and lots of chicken parts.

CSA Subscribers and Reserved Chickens:
This weekend is the June pickup of your subscription boxes.  Whole chicken, chicken parts, mixed meat,  and combo chicken and meat boxes are all ready.  If you are interested in the CSA subscription but have not signed up yet, please contact me.

Also, if you reserved fresh whole chickens, this is your weekend, too!

Sausages:
We made a new batch of breakfast and sweet Italian sausages this week.  In the freezer!

Jane's Perennial Plants
Jane Hershey will be here with her organically grown potted herbs and flowers to add to your garden.  Beautiful stuff!

The Lexington and Saugerties Farmers Market
Mark will be staffing our booth this Friday, June 7 from 5-7 at the Lexington Market. Stop by this new, dynamic market!  Then Saugerties on Saturday, 10-2. Always special events going on there!

The Bees Knees Cafe
Our new Saturday buffet option is proving to be very popular.  The buffet on Saturday or Sunday is $18. All your a la carte options are still available.  Here's Saturday's menu. Sunday's menu has all of these plus the addition of more brunch items, like scones, French Toast Bread Pudding, Roasted Squash Custards.  Note that we are trying to  mark which items are gluten free.  And there is always a vegetarian option or two. Spring Lamb Stew An example of the new Irish cuisine, using traditional regional ingredients with a lighter twist.  The stew uses neck slices with bones that give more flavor to the final dish. With potatoes, peas, dill, lettuce and white wine (GF). 11.50

Oink and Moo Chili  Our near-famous award winning chili with our grassfed ground beef and heritage breed pork chorizo sausages, with inhouse baked corn muffin. (GF without muffin) 9.50

Charcuterie and Cheese Platter  Our own grassfed beef made into summer sausage and pepperoni, paired with three local cheeses over a bed of greens with house dressing and our honey mustards! 14.50

Panini of Sliced Pastured Chicken Our tender pastured chicken with a smear of sun-dried tomato pesto on a homemade ciabatta roll, with a side salad of local greens. 10.50

Roasted Summer Squash, Roasted Eggplant and Harpersfield Cheese Panini on farm-made ciabatta rolls with side salad of local greens. 9.50

All Beef Hot Dog Our own no-nitrite hearty grassfed beef dog with side green salad.   6.00

It's been a jammed packed week on the farm.  Llama shearing, annual vet visit, new pigs arriving, a swarm of bees.  The poppies have bloomed and now the locust trees are full of fragrant blossoms that the bees love.  Hope they get to them today before the forecasted rains knock the blossoms off.  Can you spot the guinea hens running down the road?
