Join us for the Second Annual Living History Cemetery Tour, to be held in the Clovesville Cemetery just west of Fleischmanns Sat., June 29. Last year's tour in Margaretville was wildly popular -- people are still talking about it! It's a unique way to learn about local history, and enjoy a quiet, thought provoking respite from the busy world. And it's a fundraiser. Proceeds help HSM continue its mission of preserving and presenting Middletown area history.
Reservations ($10 adults, $5 kids 8-16) are required . Call 845-586-4736 to save a space in one of seven tours in which costumed docents will lead you through this beautiful Cemetery, and the adjoining Irish burial ground, to meet 10 people from the past (including mountain man Mike Todd, above), portrayed by area residents. Tours run every 20 minutes starting at 5 p.m. A special performance for mobility impaired individuals will be held at 3 p.m. in the Cornerstone Baptist Church hall next to the cemetery. Rain date is Sunday afternoon, June 30.
