Et Tu, Steve Burnett? And St. Patrick's Day Open Mic

On the Ides of March (15th) The Backroom will host our dear friend Steve Burnett of Burnett Farms in Bovina to talk about his organic CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and how you can get involved. CSAs are important to our community because they fund local farmers and allow them to bring us fresh, fantastic local produce and other great stuff. Don't miss out!

Sunday, March 17th – you know, St. Patrick's Day – we'll also be hosting an open-mic night where we invite you to read from your favorite Irish author or poet. You can even bring your own limericks (provided it contains the word "shillelagh" – pronounced sha-lay-lee)! On top of all that, it's Don Hogan's birthday, so who knows what sort of shenanigans will ensue. I will have more details for you as the day approaches.

Here is my limerick contribution –

There once was a fair young lady

who seemed just a little bit crazy.

At the Backroom she would  labor

and toss pints o' beer like a caber

Better tip, or you''ll get the shillelagh!

I promise I won't hit you with an Irish cane, but I will toss you a beer for just $4! On tap we have pints of Stella Artois, Sam Adams Alpine Spring, and Coors Lite -- plus a whole variety of fine beverages by the bottle. That's every day, not just Saint Patrick's Day!
