Gardenfest 2013 - The Workshops!

Weeds, Leaves, Seeds & Shoots Walk  2-4pm

Meet at the Garden Fest Education Booth

Free and all ages are welcome

The Binnekill Business Council and Margaretville Fairview Library co-sponsor "Weeds, Leaves, Seeds & Shoots Walk" with Herbalist, Marguerite Ulhmann-Bower. A 2 hour workshop to commence at the Garden Fest education booth where Marguerite will begin a discussion about the Catkills wild food and plants growing in the month of May. From there, participants will embark on a guided walk with Marguerite along the East Branch of the Delaware. Marguerite asks us to consider our lowly, holy weeds as often irreplaceable forms of food that go misunderstood in current day thinking. These plants nourish not only us but also the environment that surrounds us.” The guided walks final destination is the Margaretville Fairview Library where a tasting of wild edible foods and drinks will be enjoyed along with continued discussion about wild crafting and the environment.
