9th Annual Cauliflower Festival

All Day - Historical Society of the Town of Middletown History Tent
Features a photo exhibit on Middletown’s barns – those still standing, and some that are gone.
Outside the tent, craftsman Wayne Ford will demonstrate the time-honored skill of timber framing, often seen in our old barns, where mortise and tenon joinery and wooden pegs are used instead of nails to construct a building.
All Day - Artisans, vendors and exhibitors will offer their wares and provide information from locally made blueberry wine and pure Catskills maple syrup to specialty items and great food from pickles to cauliflower dishes made by area chefs. There will be lots of cauliflower for sale and Chobani yogurt to enjoy.  From WIOX Roxbury Community Radio to sales of firewood, local businesses, area non-profits and the ever popular Stream Table where you can learn about stream dynamics will make it a fun day whatever your age or interest.
All Day - Kid’s will have lots of fun when they ride the ever popular Papa’s Little Hillbilly Barrel Train , take a pony ride or zip across the East Branch of the Delaware stream for exciting fun.  Kids of all ages will have a chance to be photographed as the Watershed Agricultural Council’s “Cauliflower Lady.”  MCS Art Club will be doing face painting.
12:30 until 4pm - NEW AT THE FESTIVAL will be horse drawn carriage rides
2:30 pm The Lauren Davis Farm adjacent to the Festival grounds will showcase a Hay Baling Demonstration.
Noon and 2:00 pm - Catskill Mountain Boys
1:00 and 3:00 pm - Award winning Blue Ribbon Cloggers at the Pavilion.
 
Mini-workshops all about gardening will be offered at the Pavilion in the workshop room. The schedule will feature area garden gurus who will share from their experiences and wealth of knowledge.

12:30 pm - Innes Kasanof, Master Gardener will present Putting Your Flower Garden to Bed
1:15 pm Mel Bellar, Zone 4 Landscapes exceptional garden/landscape designer will speak about Dealing with Deer in Your Garden
2:00 pm - The Fall and Winter Gardens presented by Mel Bellar
 2:45 pm -  Madalyn Warren, Director of the Roxbury Central School Garden will speak about Extending the Vegetable Growing Season.
The Cauliflower Festival is FREE. Some activities for children have a minimal charge to defray costs.
