Music and movement go hand in hand like fresh air and the mountains. That’s why Belleayre Music Festival is kicking off its 21st Season on Saturday June 30 at 1:00 p.m. with FREE fitness classes, demonstrations and music for all ages at the upper level of Belleayre Mountain (rain or shine!)
The Let’s Move! Ulster season kick off for Belleyare Music Festival will highlight Zumba, Yoga, Dance and other fitness instructors who teach in the Catskills. Local participant Chichester Yoga proprietor Megan Leigh said, “everyone around here is looking forward to a summer filled with unwinding and recreation in one of the most beautiful area in the whole wide world.” There will be free activities for all fitness levels beginning at 1:00 p.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m.
The June 30 Let’s Move! at Belleayre features a West African dance workshop with Assane Badji, a Salsa & Tango workshop with Maia DOJO Dance Company and line dancing with Drew (Bryant) Andrews. There will also be kickboxing, boxing and gymnast demos and yoga classes for all levels with Suzanne and Ashley of Chichester Yoga. Zumba instructors from all over Ulster County will be on hand to teach, including Pilly Gonzalez, Colleen Hernandez, Amanda Montoya & Hollie Paynter, Lauren Steward, Lisa Mellin, Jessica Bartoletti and Doris Echevarria Nieves. In addition to classes, there will be child-friendly activities.
Belleayre Music Festival is partnering with the Center for Creative Education and the Ulster County Department of Health/Partners in Public Health for the 2nd Annual Let’s Move! Ulster a series of events taking place throughout Ulster Co. this spring and summer to encourage healthy physical activity for families. Let’s Move! Ulster expands on the national Let’s Move campaign started by Michelle Obama. Beyonce Knowles helped to promote the campaign with “Move Your Body,” a song she choreographed the Let’s Move! Flash Workout to.
