There's a lot happening in Margaretville, Arkville and Fleischmanns. We want to cover it with a go-to freelance reporter who will stock our Middletown town page with regular stories. Part of the job is covering town meetings. Another part is writing about local businesses. A third is doing feature stories about the issues facing the Central Catskills.
Skills we're looking for:
-Good, clear writing. We value it. Clarity is vital.
-Good reporting. We want to know that you can be thorough and fair, keep a cool head in the midst of a hot story, and be absolutely scrupulous about disclosing any conflicts of interest you might have.
-Internet fearlessness. You don't have to know anything about how web publishing and social media works -- an intrepid attitude toward learning will do just fine.
