Woodstock, NY—On March 1, 2012, from 7 to 9 p.m., the Woodstock Film Festival (WFF) will host a Woodstock Chamber of Commerce & Arts mixer at the WFF’s new building, 13 Rock City Road. Principals of the WFF are seeking to integrate their annual festival—scheduled this year from October 10 through 14—more closely with the Woodstock community. “When film-goers attend Sundance or Telluride the whole town comes out to celebrate the festival,” says Meira Blaustein, Executive Director of the Woodstock Film Festival. “We’re partnering with the Woodstock Chamber to explore ways to work more closely with area lodging, restaurants, shops, galleries, spas and other local services.”
The Chamber plans to use its Experience Woodstock Card to make special offers tailored to film festival attendees. The Chamber also looks forward to working with key WFF personnel in an outreach to metro-area travel writers.
The Chamber/WFF partnership will be the chief topic of discussion at the March 1 mixer. Part way through the event, representatives of the Woodstock Film Festival will present ideas for the 13th annual festival in October, and welcome merchants’ feedback. Afterwards the WFF will raffle off festival prizes to those in attendance. If you are a local business owner and wish to hear more or want to become involved, please consider attending this free event. Meira Blaustein, Festival staff, and Chamber board members will all be on hand. Refreshments will be sponsored by Villas in Woodstock.
The Chamber reminds everyone that its online calendar is an excellent resource to find or list upcoming events, free of charge. See www.woodstockchamber.com, Community Events Calendar.

About the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce & Arts and the Town of Woodstock
The Woodstock Chamber (www.woodstockchamber.com) is committed to a leadership role in collaborating with area businesses, arts organizations and local/county/state government to promote Woodstock and the surrounding region as a premier four-season destination for cultural tourism. The spirit of Woodstock is a beautiful state of mind—visitors return again and again, and often make their homes here. Known as the “Colony of the Arts” since 1902, Woodstock is located in the Hudson Valley at the foothills of the Catskills. It’s less than two hours from metro New York and a little over four hours from the Boston area. Because of its prominence in the worlds of art and music, Woodstock is often called “the most famous small town in the world.”
