Spring 2012 Community Music Programs - Special Guitar & Piano Introductory Lessons

The Community Music & Arts Network is offering two five-week small group sessions in beginning guitar (3:30 to 4:00 pm), beginning compositional/rock piano (4:00 to 4:30), and beginning improvisation (4:30 to 5:00 pm). Tuesdays lessons are for ages fifteen to adult; Thursdays, ages six to nine; and Fridays, ages ten to fourteen.

The weekly lessons are held at the Hobart Activity Center (entrance closest to the Episcopal church), located at 8 Pine Street in the village of Hobart. The first five-week session runs from March 1st – April 3rd. The 2nd five-week session is geared towards those with some experience on the instrument, and runs from April 19th – May 22nd. The cost of each 30-minute group lesson is $5 and participants can sign up for more than one lesson (guitar & piano or guitar, piano, and improvisation).

Local youth and adults with more advanced skills on piano and guitar are welcome to volunteer to assist with this program.

Family guitar/piano classes and all ages private lessons in voice, flute, piano, guitar, improvisation, theory, NYSSMA & audition coaching (all instruments & voice), remedial music skills/ear training (for those who love music, but have been told are “tone deaf” or “have two left feet”), home schooling groups, preschool, special needs, and senior citizen programs are also available.
