You can promote your businesses, announcements, and events for free on the Watershed Post using our calendar, announcements, and business directory. Here's how to do it.
HOW TO REGISTER AN ACCOUNT
To post events, announcements, and businesses on the Watershed Post, you must register a username and password on our site. To register, you can click the "Register" link on the top of our homepage, or click this link: www.watershedpost.com/user/register.
Once you've picked out a username, our system will send us an automatic email asking us to review your account. We will take a look at your username and email address to make sure you are a real person and not a spammer, so please try to use your real name or the name or your organization as your username -- that makes it much more likely that we will approve your account.
Once your account is approved, you will get a confirmation email. Once you get that, you’re in. You can log in to our site using your username and your one-time password and begin posting immediately. (Make sure to change your password the first time you log in. To do that, click the “edit” button on your account page, and then enter your new password.)
HOW TO POST EVENTS
Our events calendar is self-serve -- anyone with a username on our site can put in a listing, as long as it's for a local event. Calendar events can have stories, photos or even video, if you have it. We don't usually put events in the calendar ourselves -- we're too short-staffed.
To post an event, you must register an account with our site. (See instructions above.)
Once you have had you account approved and are logged in, here's how to post an event:
1. Log in to your account.
2. Under the "Manage My Account" menu on the right of the page, click "Post>Calendar entry." (Or you can click this link: www.watershedpost.com/node/add/event-calendar.)
3. Fill out the form.
4. Click "Save."
Your event will appear automatically under the date it happens in our events calendar. To see the calendar, click here.
HOW TO POST ANNOUNCEMENTS
Our announcements are self-serve, and must be Catskill-related.
To post an announcement, you must register an account with our site. (See instructions above.)
Once you have had you account approved and are logged in, you can add announcements by clicking "Post>announcements" under the "Manage My Account" menu when you are logged in. Or click on this link: http://www.watershedpost.com/node/add/announcements.
HOW TO POST A BUSINESS LISTING IN OUR DIRECTORY
To create a business listing, you must register an account with our site. (See instructions above.)
Once you have had you account approved and are logged in, go to the "Manage My Account" menu on the right, and click Post>Free business listing.
Now you can create your business profile page in our directory. You can fill out the fields, adding a photo and a description.
To add your business as an event venue, choose Recreation > Event Venues in the "Add a Category" drop down menu. Then click "add." You can add as many categories as you like.
When you're all set, you can hit "Preview" to have a look at it before saving, if you like. But don't forget to save! When you save it, it goes to us for review, and we publish it. If it takes a while for us to review your business listing, drop us a line at editor@watershedpost.com and ask us to approve it.
