Location
In honor of the 200th anniversary of Thomas Cole’s first Atlantic crossing, Greene County Council on the Arts (GCCA) is presenting “New School,” a group exhibition of local artists who create artwork inspired by the Hudson River School that Cole founded. Artists were asked to submit work that represents contemporary interpretations of the Hudson River School, rather than mimicking the classic landscape style. Co-curator Sara Pruiksma chose sixteen artists representing a variety of mediums from watercolor to photography. Best known for her botanical paintings, Pruiksma is also the Curatorial Assistant at the Albany International Airport.
The opening reception for New School will be held on Saturday, June 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at GCCA’s gallery, 398 Main Street, Catskill, NY. The reception is free and open to the public.
