Driving Miss Daisy

"Driving Miss Daisy" by Alfred Uhry

Catskill’s beloved Flo Hayle returns to the director’s chair for a two-weekend run of Alfred Uhry’s heart-warming 1988 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama “Driving Miss Daisy”. It’s 1948 and Daisy Werthan, an elderly Jewish widow living in Atlanta, has just crashed her car. Though she’s determined to maintain her independence, her son Boolie hires her a chauffeur, an African-American man named Hoke Colburn, who spends the next 25 years “driving Miss Daisy”. With Lora Lee Ecobelli as Daisy, Paul Carter as Hoke, and Tony Pallone as Boolie. Eight performances only, October 11-21, Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:00. Bridge Street Theatre, 44 West Bridge Street, Catskill, NY. General Admission $25, Students 21 and under $10. Discounted advance tickets available at driving.brownpapertickets.com or by calling 800-838-3006. Tickets will also be sold at the door one half hour prior to each performance subject to availability. For more details, visit BridgeSt.org.
