Congregation Bnai Israel’s summer book club will discuss David Bezmozgis’s award-winning novel, The Betrayers, starting at 2 PM, on Thursday, July 16th, at the synagogue at 347 Wagner Ave. in Fleischmanns. The highly regarded novel was the 2014 National Jewish Book Award’s fiction winner as well as a Wall Street Journal Best Book of 2014, a New Yorker Favorite Book of 2014, and a New York Times Book Review Editor’s Choice. It tells the story of a momentous day in the life of Baruch Kotler, a Soviet Jewish dissident who now finds himself a disgraced Israeli politician. All readers of this novel are invited to attend and participate.
