Letter to the Editor: "Imagine the sound of a chain saw in your living room"

Dear Editor:

The quality of life of so many people within earshot of the New York Safety Track in Davenport has been compromised.  The New York Safety Track is a noise nuisance.  Some residents, the lucky ones, have abandoned their homes for the racetrack season but the majority of residents, including aging residents, do not have the means to relocate.   They have nowhere to turn and need the support of their community. Imagine the sound of a chain saw in your living room.  That is what the noise sounds like to residents living within a few miles of the track. We live several miles from the track and the noise from the track is a noise nuisance for us.  Our hearts go out to the NYST's neighbors who are suffering from the endless and intrusive and disturbing noise.
