A two-car accident in the town of Liberty on Friday claimed the life of a 46-year-old Rock Hill woman.
According to a New York State Police press release, Kim Gessner was driving west on Ferndale-Loomis Road in a 2008 Nissan Versa around 9am on Friday. As Gessner's car crossed the intersection with Route 55, it was struck on the driver's side by a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer -- a mid-size SUV -- driven by 41-year-old Ghia Young of Woodbourne.
Gessner was taken to Catskill Regional Medical Center, where she died of her injuries. Young was treated for minor injuries.
The accident is being investigated by the Troop F Collision Reconstruction Unit and Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
