The New York State Police at Catskill announced the arrest of a 55-year-old Prattsville man on Wednesday for cashing seven forged checks at a local supermarket.
Lila Rikard was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and grand larceny, both felonies. The arrest was made after police received a complaint that numerous stolen and forged checks were being cashed at a Great American supermarket on Route 23 in Prattsville, according to a New York State Police press release.
An investigation revealed Rikard cashed seven checks that were stolen from Eagle Redemption in Delaware County, the press release said.
Rikard was arraigned in the Town of Catskill Court and sent to Greene County Jail on $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond.
