Heavy rainfall across the region today has streams and creeks rising, and a few spots are predicted to flood later this evening.
The Beaverkill near Cooks Falls is predicted to reach minor flood stage later tonight. The river should crest at 11.5 feet overnight -- 1.5 feet above flood stage -- and then drop back down below flood stage by around 8am. Here's the hydrograph showing the forecast:
The Esopus Creek at Cold Brook, above the Ashokan Reservoir, is also predicted to reach minor flood stage tonight. The river is forecast to hit its flood stage at 11 feet around 8pm, and crest at 14.1 feet around 2am. Hydrograph below:
